Transition Tattenhall is a Community Benefit Society (CBS). The purpose of the organisation is to work in our village to ensure that we actively support the actions necessary to tackle climate change by reducing carbon, improving biodiversity, reducing consumption and strengthening community resilience. We will do this by initiating, developing and completing projects within the village that each meet at least one of our aims
To become as member of Transition Tattenhall each individual must register as a member and purchase one share. The cost of shares is £2 and entitles each member to a single vote to elect a group of directors and in all matters brought to the membership for a deci-sion. Members are able to purchase more shares but will only have the single vote regardless of the numbers of shares held.
The Membership form can be found here:

There will be members meetings throughout the year, including one AGM. Members have a say and decide the direction of Transition Tattenhall, what projects we begin and how the group functions. Members are active supporters and participants in the projects. The members will elect up to ten Directors and can co-opt a further two directors with particular skills or benefit to meet the purpose of the organisation.
The role of a Director is to make sure that Transition Tattenhall fulfils its mission and maintains its rules and requirements as a CBS. The rules of the CBS can be found here:
Directors are responsible for making sure the organisation meets its regulatory responsibilities and files appropriate paperwork with government agencies. Addition-ally, they are responsible for ensuring that the organisation meet goals and keep promises to the public, donors, and beneficiaries.
